<p> After the setup has been carried out on your Synology NAS, a database connection must be established from PaperOffice to the database that has just been set up on your Synology. </p>
<p> Start your PaperOffice and click on <b> "Continue" </b>. If you are currently connected to a database (local or other), this connection must be disconnected. You can find detailed instructions on this <a target="blank" href="https://portal.paperoffice.ai/paperoffice/en/kb/paperoffice-classic-dms/trennen_der_bestehenden_datenbankverbindung"> <u>here</u> </a>. </p>
<p> Now select <b> "Start database manager" </b>. </p>

<p> In the next step, select the storage medium <b> "Synology NAS" </b> and click on the corresponding image. </p>

<p> In the next step, select <b> "Create new PaperOffice database" </b> and in the next step enter the IP address of your Synology NAS in the IP address area. </p>

<p> Then click on <b> "Check information, save and continue" </b>. </p>
<p> The new PaperOffice database will now be created. The process takes a moment. <br> In the next step, the unique MasterKeys are generated for the database that has just been created. <b> Save this carefully. </b> </p>
<p> After both security keys have been saved, click on <b> "Everything is done. You can continue" </b>. <br>
A new database has now been created and you are connected to it. <br>
Click on <b> "Continue" </b> to log in. </p>
<p> PaperOffice now uses the SQL database that has just been created for the entire storage. </p>
<p> This completes the setup and the database connection with PaperOffice. </p>
