What the connector does
The PaperOffice connector is a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol). Once connected, an AI assistant such as Claude can work with the documents in your PaperOffice workspaces: search, read, summarise, extract data, upload, rename, move, request signatures and start workflows — always with your account permissions.
There is nothing to install. The assistant connects to a URL, you sign in with your PaperOffice account, and the connector appears as a set of tools inside the chat.
Supported assistants
| Assistant | Connector URL | Sign-in |
|---|---|---|
| Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Code) | https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/claude | OAuth 2.1 |
| ChatGPT | https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/chatgpt | OAuth 2.1 |
| Grok | https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/grok | OAuth 2.1 |
| Cursor | https://mcp.paperoffice.ai/cursor | User token (po_ut_ / po_gt_) |
The profiles point at the same server and differ only in tool scope. The Claude profile is the one listed in the Anthropic Connectors Directory.
What you need
- A PaperOffice account with at least one workspace (app.paperoffice.ai)
- Credits on the account — tool calls are billed like REST API calls
- An assistant plan that allows custom or directory connectors (e.g. Claude Pro/Max/Team/Enterprise)
Read and write
The connector can read and write. Every tool carries a title and hints (read-only / destructive) so the assistant can ask for confirmation before it changes anything. Which workspaces are visible and whether writes are allowed follows your PaperOffice role — not the chat.
