Connect shipment tracking with GLS and DB Schenker

What it is and what it is for

Your customers ask: “Where is my parcel?” PaperOffice fetches the shipment status from GLS or DB Schenker for that. The data goes into the “Shipments” collection of an operational source. Your agent shares it with a customer only after the customer has proven who they are.

How to do it

  1. Open Knowledge Base AI → Operational sources and click Add source.
  2. Enter a name and choose the type GLS or DB Schenker.
  3. On the Connection tab, enter your credentials. For GLS these are the ShipIT address, username and password. For DB Schenker it is the access key.
  4. Under Reference / parcel number, enter a real tracking number for the preview.
  5. On the Proof tab, choose how customers prove who they are: order number and postal code, SMS one-time code, or caller number on the phone agent.
  6. Check the result on the Preview tab and save.
  7. On the Sync tab, click Sync now.

Good to know

  • You need your own credentials with GLS or DB Schenker.
  • Records are mirrored, not embedded in the knowledge index.
  • Later syncs read the existing tracking numbers on their own.
  • The agent does not notify customers about status changes by itself.
  • Ready-made connections currently exist for GLS and DB Schenker.
