Scan straight into PaperOffice AI with a network scanner

What it is and what it is for

Your network scanner or multifunction printer can send scans straight to PaperOffice AI. PaperOffice creates a private SFTP upload inbox for it. A connector then brings the files into your workspace.

How to do it

  1. Open Document AI → Storage Mounts and click Add Storage Mount.
  2. Give it a name. Choose Use as import source and the connection type Provide as Scanner Endpoint.
  3. Click Activate Endpoint. Copy host, port, username, password and the target folder /inbox.
  4. Open Document AI → Connectors and click Create connector.
  5. Select the new storage mount and the Target Workspace. Set the polling interval and the follow-up action. Save.
  6. On the scanner, add an SFTP destination: host sftp.paperoffice.ai, port 2022, folder /inbox and the copied credentials.

Good to know

  • Older devices can use an unencrypted FTP inbox. Use SFTP wherever you can.
  • Scan to email, scan to an SMB folder, and FTPS or WebDAV at the inbox are not possible.
  • By default the connector checks every 30 minutes. You can change the interval.
  • Files are removed from the inbox after import, at the latest after 24 hours.
  • After three failed logins the IP address is blocked for 24 hours.
  • The credentials cannot be changed. For new ones, delete the endpoint and create it again.
  • Each endpoint uses one storage mount from your plan's quota.
