How do I create an IDP agent?

Always from a document

An IDP agent is not created as an empty form. The app runs the flow from a sample document.

1. Open the document in the workspace that the agent should be based on. If it is missing: Add a document.
2. Select the document.
3. In Actions, choose Create new IDP Agent.
4. Choose a template from the catalog.
5. Adjust fields and instructions in the agent editor and save.

The same orientation opens from Document AI → IDP Agents → Create agent. That dialog sends you to the sample document. It does not replace steps 2 to 4.
