How do I delete my PaperOffice AI account?

Who may delete

This article describes Delete account in PaperOffice AI.

Account deletion is self-service under GDPR Article 17. It is available only to the root account (organization owner).

  • Member accounts do not see the Delete account navigation item.
  • A member account does not delete “itself” this way. Removing a user lives under Users: Remove a user.
  • A session acting on behalf of another account (impersonation) cannot run the deletion.

Without root access, the organization owner must perform the deletion, or PaperOffice Support can advise.

Where the path is

Only in the web app and the desktop app — not the mobile app, not Classic DMS, not the portal:

  1. Open PaperOffice AI in the browser or in the desktop app.
  2. Open Settings: https://app.paperoffice.ai/en/paperoffice-account/settings (other languages: /{lang}/paperoffice-account/settings).
  3. Choose Delete account on the left. The item appears only when the signed-in account is root.
  4. Start Delete account in the panel and complete the dialog.

The mobile app does not include this item: Delete an account in the mobile app.

What is deleted

The action deletes the root account and the entire organization permanently, including every associated user.

Fully removed items include files and documents, AI data, workspaces, knowledge bases, workflows, users and related settings.

What is retained

Invoice, payment and tax records remain for legal retention. The remaining content cannot be restored.

Confirmation in the dialog

The dialog requires, among other things:

  • confirmation that the content will be deleted permanently
  • the root account ID
  • the confirmation phrase
  • a reason for the deletion (product feedback)

After submit, the request is reviewed and deletion then runs automatically. Sign-out follows.

Hand billing over to a partner on the same settings page is a different action and does not delete the account.
