Wizard, not the toolbar “Add document”
Single files: Add a document.
Stores (Classic export, folder trees, large ZIPs) run through Import documents on the workspaces overview.

- Document AI → Workspaces.
- Select the target workspace.
- Actions → Import documents.
- The wizard has four steps: Source, Files, Review, Import.

SMB and Windows shares are not a source type: SFTP, WebDAV, S3 and IMAP.
Files
For a ZIP, drop the file and wait until the transfer finishes. Next stays disabled while the upload runs. Closing aborts the transfer. For a storage mount, choose the mount and the source folder.
Review
The wizard counts files, size and folders and shows the first 20 files. Skip duplicates automatically is selected by default (identical SHA-256 content already in the workspace). Subfolders are included.
Import
Start the import and wait for progress. Processing afterwards follows the AI-DMS tier of the target workspace, not a second choice in the wizard: After import. Tiers: AI-DMS tiers: Basic, Premium and Ultra.
