QNAP, not a dedicated connector
PaperOffice AI has no QNAP connector. The device appears as SSH/SFTP (BYOS) or as an import source (SFTP or WebDAV). The PaperOffice AI clicks live in How do I connect a NAS as a storage mount?.
QTS firmware menus can differ slightly by version. What matters: SFTP reachable, dedicated user, dedicated folder.
On the QNAP NAS
In QTS, Control Panel → Network & File Services, allow SSH (Telnet/SSH). SFTP runs over SSH. Create a dedicated user and a dedicated shared folder — not the Classic data folder and not the MariaDB share. In the app, PaperOffice AI signs in to SFTP with a password; an SSH private key can only be set through the API.
Classic MariaDB or the PaperOffice Classic data folder on this NAS is not a mount path for PaperOffice AI. Export originals first: How do I export documents as original files?
In PaperOffice AI
- Document AI → Storage Mounts → Add Storage Mount.
- BYOS and SSH/SFTP if originals should stay on the QNAP.
- Host (a public hostname or public IP address; local network addresses are rejected), port, user, password, base path to the new folder. Without port forwarding, use Reverse SSH.
- Test the connection. For BYOS, set the encryption password (at least 16 characters), download it as a file and keep it safe, then save.
