Two purposes, not a brand connector
PaperOffice AI has no vendor field “QNAP / Synology / ASUSTOR”. The NAS is connected through a protocol.

Purpose and encryption cannot be changed after create. The same NAS may have two mounts: BYOS on the workspace folder, import source on the Classic export folder.
SFTP in PaperOffice AI authenticates with a password, not an SSH key.
What is not a storage mount
The Classic data folder and MariaDB on the NAS are not a BYOS target. Export originals first: How do I export documents as original files?
Path in web and desktop
- Open PaperOffice AI in the browser or the desktop app.
- Document AI → Storage mounts.
- Create.
- Choose purpose: BYOS or import source.
- For BYOS: SSH/SFTP. Host, port, user, password, base path. Test the connection.
- BYOS requires an encryption key: generate it, download it, confirm. Without that key a later re-mount is not possible.
- Save.
